Amero, Loretta Francis

AMERO, Loretta FrancisJan 15, 1962 – Jan 20, 2022We are greatly saddened to announce the passing of Loretta Francis Amero (nee Ketchum) on January 20, 2022 in Leduc, AB. She passed away peacefully, but far too young, after a courageous fight with cancer. Thankfully, she was always surrounded by family and friends and never felt alone. Loretta’s family was her life. She enjoyed being in the sunshine, camping, biking, swimming, and crafting; it was a bonus if it was with her family and friends. She was literally and figuratively our biggest cheerleader. She is lovingly remembered and missed by her husband and her true love of 40 years, Kevin; her children: Christine (Danny) Sych, Murray (Jen), and Chad (Brittny); as well as her beloved grandchildren: Hailey, Carter, Sierra, Harlowe, Ryker, Asher, and Everlee; and siblings: Rick (Maureen) Ketchum, Linda (Monty) Trent, Carol Ketchum and Barb Ketchum. She is predeceased by her parents Lofton (Frances) and Brenda Ketchum, and her siblings: Christina and Gordon Ketchum. We would like to thank her incredible homecare team as well as the staff at the Leduc Hospital (unit 22) for treating her with compassion and a gentleness that matched what she showed others. There will be no service, however, in the Spring, we will be sharing information on a celebration of life in her honour to take place within the Leduc area.

I work on unit 21/22 at the Leduc hospital. Loretta was one of my absolute favourite people- she was kind and funny and was sunshine in human form. I hadn’t seen her in a while and my heart is broken for all of you. She’ll be greatly missed

Loretta was a woman I hardly knew, her son and mine went to preschool / kindergarten together … one day he didn’t get off the bus and I freaked out. I called the Amero home to see if he was playing with Chad … nope. Loretta, without my knowing, took it upon herself to phone other parents and students in corinthia to find my little boy. From that day forward, for the last 29 years, she has held a spot in my heart that nobody can replace. God speed to you Loretta, and to you Kevin and kids, Herb, Brad and I are so very sorry for your heartache. ❤️

I met Loretta back in 1980ish when i worked at Kentucky Fried Chicken. She always had the patience to teach me the ropes, and we had so many laughs…..her, me and Laura. Such great memories of this amazing lady. So sorry for your family’s loss. Rest in Peace Loretta!!!
