Allen John Mino

Allen John Mino was born February 7 1947 at the Henderson Hospital in Hamilton Ontario to Frances Dorothy (Barwell ) and Maurice Allen Mino. He was raised in Haldimand County where at the age of 2 he developed his love of trains; watching them pass on the track directly behind our house. He attended public school in Cayuga. In 1961 the family moved to Hamilton where he attended Westmount Secondary School. He had to leave school after completing grade 10 as he got married and had a daughter. He had to give up his dreams of driving truck to earn enough money to support a family so he was persuaded to work for the Hamilton Fire Department; a position he didn’t enjoy, due to having to sit in one spot waiting for something to happen; his preference would have been to be outside and on the move! His life was often complicated and sometimes tragic. Throughout this he maintained a special place in his heart for children and animals. His greatest wish was to have a large family. In 1969 he “escaped “to the open spaces of the West and had to face many more life challenges. He did manage to live his dream of driving truck. His life turned around when he met and married Joanne. He is predeceased by his motherand father, son Wade and stepson Dale. He is survived by his wife Joanne, his sister Dawn Wolfe of Ontario. He is also survived by the joys of his life ;his children Donald and Twyla, stepchildren Donna, Brian, Lauralee, Laurel ;his grandchildren Kayla, Taylor, Justin, Austin, Brian, DJ, Lisa, Blaine ,Cassie; great grandchildren Ariel, Destiny, Nevaeh, Adelyn, Rylee, Alana, Johnny. “Pops”as he was known to all of the above finally had his large family.
