Alice Mary Rapp

Alice Mary Rapp, aged 80, unexpectedly passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at the Leduc Community Hospital. Alice’s memory lives on through her husband Martin Rapp, three daughters; Elaine Rapp, June Wiersma and Dawn Mix and seven grandchildren. Alice was born in Edmonton and then was blessed with the family of Angela and Rudy Miko as her parents and four loving brothers. She studied to be a Nursing Aid in Calgary Alberta in the early 1950’s. After graduation she worked at the University of Alberta Hospital for several years pursuing her passion for helping people. She met and fell in love with a dashing young German patient (Martin Rapp) and they were engaged and married in 1957. She continued nursing until they had a family. Alice spent the following years not only raising and nurturing her family but by volunteering in her community. Some of the positions Alice held were; Brownie and Girl Guide Leader, School Trustee, Mayor, Deputy Mayor and Councilor of New Sarepta. Alice was very passionate about the Maple Hill Catholic Church where she spent many hours volunteering. She also was on the Library Board in many different capacities.
