Alice (Aaltje) Pietersma

Alice passed away peacefully to be with her Lord on Wednesday, April 11 at the age of 88 years.

She was born in the Netherlands where she eventually married her childhood sweetheart, Hank, on May 8, 1951. On April 1, 1952 they both immigrated to Edmonton, Alberta where they raised their family.

Alice will be lovingly remembered and missed by her children: George (Shelley), Anne (Conrad), Margaret, daughter-in-law, Kathy (Dwayne); grandchildren: Gabrielle (Brent), Hank (Pam), Katherine, Walter (Ailish), Stuart (Trina), Scott (Jackie), Alicia (Jake), Catrina (Damon), Carly (Matt), Tyson, Dustin; great-grandchildren: Logan, Sydney, Georgia, Mason, Taylor, Brody, Joelle, Roman, Surrie, Emery, Dryden, Calder, Noa, Dane, Kate, Annika, Bentley, Maddex, Cutler, Emmylou, Tucker and numerous other relatives and friends in Canada and the Netherlands.

She was predeceased by her husband, Hank; sons Walter and Sidney and great-granddaughter, Gloria.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at 10:00 am at Trinity Christian Reformed Church, 13427-57 Street, Edmonton, AB.

I too have very fond memories of Alice and the Pietersma family. Our Family vacations to Penticton B.C. and staying with them when our family moved to Calgary and we come for a visit. Good food, good times, and for sure good baking. she will always be remembered in my ❤️ for her kindness, warmth, and loving person.
