Alexander Ress

Alexander Ress, 62, passed away on the evening of July 31, 2016 at Shepherd’s Care Kensington in Edmonton, AB after a long and valiant struggle with cancer. Alex was born to Michael Ress of Hungary and Agatha Elizabeth (Nagy) Ress of Regina, SK on May 28, 1954 in Raymond, AB. He grew up in Lethbridge, moved to Peace River where he spent the next 20 years, returned to Lethbridge where he lived and worked until declining health took him to Edmonton where he could be closer to his children. Alex will be missed and fondly remembered by his wife of 15 years, Pauline (Ellert), son James Joseph (Kara-Lee), daughter Angela Lee (Paul Brien), son Evan Cory, and two grandsons, Jake Alexander Brien and Max William Brien. Predeceased by his parents, his sister Donna and brother Jim, Alex is survived by sister Diane (Ray Decaire) brother George (Wendy), brother Frank (Olga), sister Rose (Peter Vanderbilt) and sister Kathy (Barry Dangas, deceased), nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Alex loved fishing, camping, bonfires and spending time with family and friends. At Alex’s request, no funeral service will be held and cremation has taken place. A gathering of family and friends will take place at a later date at Indian Battle Park in Lethbridge to celebrate Alex’s life. The family would like to extend special thanks to the wonderful staff at Tom Baker Cancer Centre in Calgary, St. Michael’s in Lethbridge and Shephard’s Care Kensington in Edmonton for the wonderful care they provided to Alex during his time of illness.
