Wow, it’s been along time Erwin… lots of fun times and great memories. Thank you for your kind condolences and recollection. My dad really loved teaching and, of course, hitting the football pitch. You were a pretty good player yourself! I hope you are keeping well and I thank you again from myself, David, and our families.

My deepest sympathy to Bert’s family. I have fond memories of the times spent in his class at St. Thomas More School in Fairview. He was a great teacher always inspiring me to be my best. As well he was a fierce competitor on the football pitch during school matches with students..

Bert was a wonderful friend and colleague who impacted many lives. I first met Bert in Fairview when he was teaching Grade 6 and we became good friends. Many times we would go for a beer; a picnic to Dunvegan; or sit around the firepit in his back yard with the family joking and sharing memories of Holland. Bert loved life and I will keep his memory close to my heart.
