The 1st daughter of Bert and Annie Clarke, Marion was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Home was the small town of Pinawa where she grew up with her sister, Betty-Anne.
Marion later moved to Winnipeg and while attending school at St. James Collegiate, she met Bruce Orchard and they developed a bond that eventually led to their marriage at St. James Anglican Church in Winnipeg on July 4, 1953.
In September, Bruce joined Sherritt Gordon Mines and the newlyweds moved to Edmonton. In July, Bruce and Marion moved to the Thunderbird Apartments in Fort Saskatchewan, where they met many of their life long friends and continued to raise their growing family.
In 1960 the Orchard family moved to our home on 102 Ave. where Marion lived for the remainder of her life. Even with 4 children, Marion found time to be active in many other areas. Besides going to the many sporting events in which the children and grandchildren participated, Marion was a long time member of the Tennis Club. Her love for music led her to become a member of the Cosmopolitan Band (played trumpet for 37 years) and a member of the Josephburg Choral Society (played the bells for over 20 years). Marion was a very active individual and developed many lasting friendships.
A loving wife to Bruce, Mother to Rod (Alice); Scott (Sandy); Linea and Brent (Joan); Grandmother to Marc, Renee (Kevin); Nicole, Dominique, Lindsay; Ryan (Delaney and Great Grandson Nash); Bronwyn (Devin); Jenna, Garrett and Aedan, and a forever cheerful friend. You will be sorrowfully missed.
