O’HARA, John Robert
Bob O’Hara died suddenly while on holiday on October 4, 2016. He is survived by his beloved wife Jean; their children: Karen (Darin), Stephen (Macie), Erin (Craig); his dear grandchildren: Greg, Ryan, Spencer, CJ, Bryce, Sophie and Ashlyn; sister Colleen (Jack); his nieces, nephews and lastly his dog Charley.
He is predeceased by his parents George and Ruth and sister Patricia.
Bob was born in Grande Prairie in 1937 and spent his childhood moving around Alberta, instilling in him a deep love for his province. He graduated from the University of Alberta with a degree in Commerce in 1960 and enjoyed a long career with the Revenue Canada. Bob and Jean met and married in 1966 and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary this spring with a family cruise. After living in Edmonton and Ottawa, they settled permanently in Edmonton in 1981 and built many strong friendships through Bob’s work, their church and their community involvement. Bob was above all a family man and he deeply valued his relationship with his extended family. Bob faced the world with a smile and a song, loved and was loved and we all miss him terribly.
A Memorial, Service will be held on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at 1:30 at Southminster Steinhauer United Church, 10740-19 Avenue, Edmonton, AB
