With the deepest sorrow we announce the passing of Jerry George Schram, father, grandfather.
He passed Nov. 12, 2017 after a painful fight at Grey Nuns Hospital in Edmonton, Alberta.
He is survived by daughter Kim; sons Gerald and Dwayne; grandchildren Tamara, Christine, Dillion and Danica, and grandson-in-law Adam.
His family are extremely appreciative of the care he received from the supportive and cheerful nursing and support staff at Grey Nuns Community Hospital during his final weeks.
Born near Veregin, Saskatchewan (NW-36-31-1-W2) he was the middle child and is survived by sister Julia and brother Dennis.
Jerry started school in a one-room building with 18 students. His first teacher was Ronald Hladun. During grade school he was a 4-H member and won first prizes for wheat growing competitions in the Fort Pelly and Norquay Clubs.
After graduating from Kamsack Collegiate Institute in 1955 with honours, he entered the University of Saskatchewan in 1959 and took the mechanical engineering courses. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering in 1963.
As an engineer he worked at various pulpmills for the majority of his career to follow with materials handling contracting with various oilsands projects.
Jerry retired at age 68 in 2010 after 45 years in the profession.
A funeral service will be held at Serenity Funeral Services – 5311 -91 Street, Edmonton, Alberta on Nov. 24, 2017 between 7-9 PM. A subsequent interment will be held in Kamsack, Saskatchewan in the late spring of 2018.
Donations in lieu of flowers can be made to the Grey Nuns Community Hospital.
