Mart Bradshaw
BRADSHAW, Mart (Martha Isabel) (nee Storms) October 26, 1906 — September 27, 2010 It is with great sadness that we acknowledge the passing of our dear mother and grandmother, Mart Bradshaw. Mart died peacefully in her sleep on September 27, 2010. Her husband Jack, her son Lorne, her siblings Lorne Storms, Mary Rice and Ruth DeWitt, her brothers-in-law Dwight Rice and Bert DeWitt, as well as many friends and relatives, predeceased Mart. She is mourned by her daughter LaVerne Hawkins, her granddaughter Wendy Hawkins, her grandson and granddaughter-in-law Greg and Lana Hawkins and her four great-grandchildren, Ava, Scott, Mia, and Georgia; as well as her sister-in-law Evelyn Storms. Mart’s nephews, nieces, cousins, and many friends also mourn her passing. Mart had a wonderful sense of humour. She had a great interest in other people and was an important member of her community and her church. She taught school for many years in a number of rural communities and helped many children discover the value of learning. She lived a full and active life enjoying many activities including travel, music, flowers, reading, crosswords, and visiting. Her honesty, strength, beauty, and dedication are a profound legacy. We would like to thank the staff of the third floor at Hardisty Care Centre in Edmonton, AB for all their care. We would also like to thank the many people who visited and phoned Mart during her time at Hardisty. The Memorial Service will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Ardrossan United Church, 22 Main Street, Ardrossan AB. November 15, 1944 – September 27, 2010
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father George Pizzey of Warburg, AB, at the age of 65. George passed peacefully at the St.Joseph’s Hospice in Edmonton, AB with his family by his side. He was one of 10 children born to the late Edwin and Lily Pizzey. George was predeceased by siblings Billy, Larry, Doreen, Ted and Joan. George will be forever remembered by his beloved children Trevor, Jason (Lenore) and Veronica (Ryan), his treasured grandchildren Shania, Lauren, Tyler, and Jennifer, his devoted sibling’s Bob, Peggy, Winnie and Linda, along with countless other family and friends whom were blessed to know him. As per George’s wishes there will be no funeral service, but a celebration of life will be held for family and close friends at a date to be later announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this time.

BOYER, Evan Gregory September 25, 1980 — September 24, 2010 Evan passed away suddenly on Friday September 24, 2010. Left to mourn his loss are his brothers: Ryan, Chad, stepbrother Blair, stepmother Leona (Nick) Lapierre, Kelowna, BC, his grandparents Ray, Rita Boyer of Grande Prairie, AB, Harry, Agnes Miseck of Spruce Grove, AB, niece Nicole, nephew Austin of London, Ontario. Also survived by his loving girlfriend Sabrina Etherington and best friend Reed Murphy, uncles: Doug (Judy) of Peace River, AB, Arne (Kim), Ted of Edmonton; aunts: Terryl, Maxine, Lorie (Terry) of Edmonton; cousins: Tina, Jodi, Luke, Kirsten, Sarah, Jesse, Maeve, Emily, Travis, Tammy and Josh. Evan was predeceased by his mother and father Betty and Eldon Boyer, aunt Sheila Salter, uncle Richard Ringuette, brother Tyler Boyer. Evan was a special person with a warm and loving heart and a wonderful sense of humor; we shall miss him greatly. Magnuson, Shirley
MAGNUSON, Shirley Shirley Magnuson of Edmonton passed away on September 21, 2010 at the age of 69, after a long battle with cancer. She is survived by her loving mother Katherine (Kay) Ragan, aunt Nora Loughlean of Vegreville, cousins Dennis, Roy (Sophie), Michael (Cathy) Loughlean, Valerie (Stan) Carr, and her good friend Chris Bezovie. Shirley was predeceased by her uncle Larry Loughlean, and her grandmother Elizabeth Semenuk. Shirley enjoyed her working years with the Edmonton Public Library, and was passionate about her work. A picture of City Hall signed by the mayor, an appreciation of her 42 years of service, was proudly displayed. She loved her sports teams, the Oilers and Eskimos, and would often be found glued to the TV set when her teams were playing. She loved puppies, word puzzles and scratch tickets. Cremation has taken place and at Shirley’s request no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Cancer Research or Edmonton Public Library.
Edwards, Anne Marian
EDWARDS, Anne Marian On September 19, 2010 Anne Edwards went home to be with her Lord. Anne is lovingly remembered by her three children: Janice, Stuart (Gwen) and Ralph (Lynn); four granddaughters: Ronda, Tara, Tammy and Carla: and eight great-grandchildren. Anne is also survived by five siblings: Mike (Dorothy), Bill (Bertha), Olga (Bill), Alexis (Ed) and Walter (Anne). She was predeceased by her husband Jack in 2002 and her granddaughter Angie. A Service will be held in memory of Anne on Saturday, September 25, 2010 11:00 a.m. at the Zion Evangelical Missionary Church in New Sarepta. Memorial donations may be made to the Torch River Bible Camp.

DELARONDE, Robert Lloyd “Where have you gone since yesterday And left us lonely here? Today you seem so far away Who yesterday was near.” (Author Unknown) On September 17, 2010, Robert passed away at the age of 78. He will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by his wife Edith, his children: Deborah (Bryan), Karl (Louise), James (Karen), and Steven (Lisa) and his grandchildren: Rachel, Simon, Ezra, Eli, Leah, and Ryan, as well as many friends and neighbours. He was predeceased by his first wife Elizabeth. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 25 at 2:00 p.m. at Strathcona Presbyterian Church, 8116 — 105 Street N.W., Edmonton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Robert’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.

CUNNINGHAM, George — On September 23, 2010, George Cunningham of Edmonton passed away at the age of 87 years. He is survived by his loving wife Norma; daughters Pat (Dave) Sinclair and Linda (Gordon) Holm; son Alan (Anne) Cunningham; grandchildren Sean (Frances), Adam (Maxine), Brian (Kim), Erin (Brian), Marnie (Shawn); five great grandchildren and two brothers, Ed (Betty) and Tom (Mary). A gathering to celebrate George’s life will be held on Thursday, September 30th at 2:00 p.m. at Avonmore United Church 7909–82 Avenue, Edmonton, AB. Flowers gratefully declined. CHIN, Winston Philip (Phil) May 22, 1975 — September 14, 2010 It is with great sadness that the Chin family announces the unexpected passing of our beloved brother, brother-in-law, and uncle, Phil Chin of Edmonton, Alberta. He will be sadly missed by his three siblings: Ken (Renee), Alice (Winston), and Lia (Jordan), as well as his nieces Ayla and Kierra, and nephew Adam. It is with a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister Eleanora Hamula on Thursday, September 23, 2010 at the Leduc Hospital with her family by her side. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter Audrey Cote (Christian) and their family, Tony (Joanne), Kimberley (Jason), great-grandchildren Connor and Hayden Travis; a son Larry Hamula (Kathy) and their family, Ashley (Tanya), Owen (Angela), great-granddaughter Emily; great-granddaughters Jestice and Shaela, Blake (Dustie). Also surviving are brothers Norman (Erma) Bienert, Stanley (Elza) Bienert and Gordon Bienert and her sister Gladys Matter. She was predeceased by her husband Ted, parents Fred and Emma Bienert, brothers Rueben, Ronnie and her sister Dorothy Desmet. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held on Monday, September 27, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Nisku with Father Leo Hofmann officiating. On Saturday, September 18, 2010, Elizabeth of Stony Plain passed away at the age of 90 years. Elizabeth is survived and leaves her cherished memory to her loving husband Dr. Carl Taylor, her children Mark Taylor, Irene Colwell, Tim Taylor and Fern Steem, her 12 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Her family would like to thank the staff of the Westview and Misericordia Hospitals. She is remembered as a thoughtful, caring, and loving gracious person. ROBBINS, Gerald (Jerry, Buddy) of Edmonton, Alberta (November 1927 — September 2010) passed away peacefully at the age of 82 after a long illness. Predeceased by his parents Vernon and Minnie, brothers Mack (England), Doug (Victoria), Pat (Vancouver), Donny and Kenny, sisters Phylis (Vancouver), and Grace (Calgary). He leaves to mourn his passing his two sisters Joan (Vancouver) and Shirley (Barry) (Edmonton), his four sons and one daughter, eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren: Vernon (Marlene) and son Darcy (Marina) and their children Marko, Mateja and Tomislav, son Cory (Anjali), son Wesley; Gary (Anita) and son Ryan; Barry and daughters Shannon and Lindsey; Wayne and son John and daughter Bridget; and daughter Jenelle (Dan). Also, the mother of his children Evelyn and many nieces and nephews and very dear friends. There will be no church service by request. A get together for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, September 22, 2010 at Serenity Funeral Service, 5311 — 91 Street, Edmonton, Alberta from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Cremation will follow. Peacefully, after a lengthy illness, Elmer Kadatz passed away to be with his Lord, on September 15, 2010. Elmer was 70 years of age. Elmer is lovingly remembered by his wife of 48 years Bev; son Byron (Gailanne) Kadatz; daughter Brenda (David) Jones; grandchildren: Aaron and Amanda Kadatz, Alyssa and Christopher Jones; his brothers: Ruben (Delaine), Rod (Linda); and sister-in-law Evelyn. Elmer is also survived by his mother-in-law Violet Fenske; his brother-in-law Bill (Marlene) Fenske; sister-in-law Carolynn (Bud) Townsend; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and many friends. Elmer was predeceased by his parents Ewald and Louise, brother Wilfred, stepmother Rosina and his granddaughter Shelby. JOZIC, Joseph Holzer December 19, 1938 — September 16, 2010 After a short but brave battle with cancer, Joe left in the arms of Jesus with his family by his side in the early morning hours. He leaves to miss him greatly his wife of thirty-one years Helen, son Joe-Lee (Corrine), daughters Kathy and Teresa; stepchildren Shane, Collin, Ken (Cherie), Sharlene (Grant), Nadine, and Candice; also his thirty-five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, many family and friends. Joe was predeceased by his baby brother Gunther, his parents, wife Jeanette, daughter Lynn, granddaughter Jade and grandson Kenni. On Monday, September 13, 2010 Vern Gabert slipped away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 71 years. He is survived by his loving family: wife, Betty; daughter, Debra (Mike) Hankirk; and stepsons Keven (Shawna) McGhan and Doug (Joanne) McGhan; brothers, James Gabert, Dennis (Judy) Gabert; nephew Ken and niece Cynthia. Vern enjoyed seven grandchildren, Alex and Nathan Hankirk, Ethan and Julia (Keven) McGhan and Zoe, Maya and Tessa (Doug) McGhan. DRAGER, Kim Michelle 1960 — 2010 On September 15, 2010 Kim Michelle Drager passed away at the age of 49 years. Dennie, Denis John
DENNIE, Denis John November 19, 1944 — September 16, 2010 On Thursday, September 16, 2010 Denis Dennie passed away peacefully and quietly after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 65. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Jean Marakovits; daughter, Nicole (Matt) Balsom; his mother, Jean (Hector) Vaillancourt; brothers, Mervyn (Ginette), Ronald, Donald; sisters„ Muriel (Denis) Houde, June (John) Elliott-Hardy; and many nieces and nephews. Denis was predeceased by his father, Thomas. Denis retired from Labatt Canada which he was employed for thirty-two years. Denis enjoyed old vehicles, which he restored, camping, hockey, and his special little boy, his poodle, Sammy. A Celebration of life will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Southgate Alliance Church (3916 — 107 Street N.W., Edmonton, AB) followed by interment at St. Anthony’s Cemetery (5300 — 106 Street, Edmonton, AB). Following the interment, a luncheon will be held in the Fellowship Hall at the Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Cross Cancer Institute.

KWIATKOWSKA, Mieczyslawa Mieczyslawa is survived by her son Marian (Marianna) Kwiatkowski, her daughters Janina (Marek) Plaza, and Elzbieta (Krzysztof) Czuprynski; twenty grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren. Mieczyslawa is predeceased by her husband Eugeniusz on September 23, 2009, her daughter Jadwiga Kozel who passed away on June 17, 2009 and Maria Kwiatkowska who passed away November 1948.
