It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of David Hutchinson at the young age of 19 years.

David was loved and will be missed by his mother Verona Pesti, sister Christina, father Robert, grandparents Louis Pesti, John and Shirley Hutchinson, Uncle and Aunt Robert and Maureen Pesti, aunts Karen Kramer, Tammy King, cousins Ava and Rya Pesti, Robert and Amanda Maddoford.

David was predeceased by his brother Kyle, grandmothers Eva Pesti and Dorothy Siemens.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday August 4th, 2010 at the Leduc Community Baptist Church, 3205 Coady Blvd., Leduc, AB.

THORNTON, Gary On Tuesday, July 27th, Mr. Gary Thornton of Sherwood Park, AB passed away at the age of 51 years. Gary is survived by his loving wife Shauna, daughters; Nina and Amy, son; Payton, one granddaughter; Kayla, his parents; George and Edna Thornton, two brothers; George (Lil), Steve, sister; Lee-Anne (Peter Chernik), and many other close relatives and friends. BADDOCK, Robert John

On Saturday July 24th, 2010 Bob Baddock of Calmar, AB passed away at the age of 73 years.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Cecilia Van Haaren, children; Gilles (Barb) Baddock, Diane Baddock, Evelyn (Paul) Martin and Corrina (Dale) Lougheed; step children; Amanda and Melissa Van Haaren; 16 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, one step grandson and numerous relatives and friends.

Bob was predeceased by the mother of his children, Collette;  parents Ann Grace and Jack Baddock and two sisters Louise and Betty.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday July 30th, 2010 at Serenity Funeral Service 4702–51 Ave Leduc, AB.

GROSS, Richard On Wednesday July 21, 2010 Mr. Richard Gross passed away at the age of 81years. He leaves his wife of 50 years Martha; two sons; Ernest Jahn (Mercy), Richard Gross (Cristina), two daughters; Diana Gibson (Brent), Ursula Robinson, eight grandchildren; Megan Jahn, Chase Jahn, Stephen Gibson, Mark Gibson, Holly Robinson, Matthew Robinson, Sophie Gross, Samantha Gross. SHONGRUNDER, Nancy

SHONGRUNDER, Nancy January 8th, 1924 — July 18th, 2010 Nancy succumbed from a lengthly battle with Alzheimers on July 18th at the age of 86. She was predeceased by her husband Frank in 1999. She will be lovingly remembered by her family; daughters Shirley (Don) and grandson Troy; Lorna Jordan, Denise Griffin (Al) and granddaughter Amanda; and one son, Brian Shongrunder; one brother Peter Burcharski; and a sister, Lena Seewalt, plus numerous nieces, nephews and friends. At Nancy’s request cremation has already taken place. A Memorial Mass, officiated by Father Bernie Gilliece will be held at St. Dominic Savio Parish 14406 — 62 Street, Edmonton, AB on July 22nd at 10:30 a.m. A private family interment to follow later. The family extend their gratitude to Dwayne and Martha, and the staff on 3B and Main A at Capital Care Dickinsfield where Nancy was a resident for many years.

BENDER, Ella

Ella went home to be with the Lord on July 14, 2010 at the age of 88 years.

Ella is survived by her husband of 66 years, Bill, two daughters; Lorraine (Marvin) Rust and Leona (Wayne) Klapstein, two sons; Warren (Lorna) and Barry (Cheryl), 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, three brothers, one sister, plus numerous nephews and nieces.

Those wishing to pay their last respects may do so on Sunday, July 18, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at Serenity Funeral Service, 4702 51 Avenue, Leduc, Alberta.

A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, July 19, 2010 at Southfork Baptist Church, 49233 RR 251, Leduc, Alberta.

Marica Planinc

PLANINC, Marica October 20, 1927 — June 17, 2010 On June 17, 2010, Marica Planinc, passed away in Edmonton, Alberta. She is survived by her sister, Fanika Repenek, her late husband’s brother and sister-in-law, Anton Planinc and Vanda Planinc, and many nieces and nephews. They all reside in Slovenia, Marica’s country of birth. Marica enjoyed gardening and visiting with those she cherished. Marcia’s friends in Edmonton will especially treasure the many conversations they had with her, over tea and goodies. Her warm and caring presence will be greatly missed by all. A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, July 10, 2010, 12:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Church of the First Peoples, 10821–96 Street. Cremation has already taken place. Marica will be laid to rest alongside her late husband, Max Planinc, at the Beechmont Cemetary, 12420–104 Street.

RUPPEL, Antonia

 On Thursday July 1, 2010, Mrs. Antonia Ruppel of South Edmonton passed away at the age of 84 years. She is survived by her daughter Bernie (Lloyd), son Alvin (Dalene); and five grandchildren: Shawn, Jill, Emily, Sarah and Stephanie. She is also survived by four sisters: Edith Schultz, Helen Graff, Dorothy Kuehn and Elsie Ferguson (Wes), as well as various nephews. She was pre-deceased by her loving husband Ewald and daughter Lydia. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the nurses and staff at the Millwoods Shepherd’s Care for the outstanding care they provided. If friends so desire, donations in memory of Antonia may be made to St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5104 Ellerslie Road. Funeral Service will held at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at St. Paul’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 5104 Ellerslie Road. PULLES , Bert

 After a brave and courageous two year journey of cancer treatments, it is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Bert Cornelius Martin Pulles on June 21st 2010. Bert is survived by his loving wife of 32 years; Elaine, daughter Jennifer (Tim) Bagu, son Keith (Karen) and daughter Bari. He is also survived by his family in Saskatoon, SK : mother Jacoba ‘Coby’, sister Eleanor ‘Nory’(Roger) Kennedy , brother Henry’Hank’ (Jeanette), brother Richard ‘Rick’ (Chandra), brother John, sister Marian (Barry) Thomson, brother Tom (Maureen), as well as his Regina relatives: mother-in-law Margaret Swayze and her companion Lynall Wilson, brother-in-law Jack (Leslie) Swayze, as well as numerous nephews and nieces in both Alberta and Saskatchewan. Bert was looking forward to the birth of his first grandchild this summer; Bert was predeceased by his father Bert Pulles, uncle John Pulles, and both sets of grandparents. Bert was born on September 18, 1950 on the family farm near Delisle , SK. As a toddler the family moved to Saskatoon, SK and he attended St. Mary’s and St. Goretti’s Elementary Schools as well as St. Paul’s All Boys High School and then E.D. Feehan High School to complete grade 12. Bert graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering in 1972 , and moved to Regina in January 1974 to commence work with Saskatchewan Department of Highways and Transportation, where he worked at both Head Office and Regina District offices until 1986. Bert worked as a consultant with G.E. Ground Engineering in Regina from 1986 to 1989 , at which time he moved to Edmonton to commence employment with EBA Engineering Consultants until his retirement in March 2010. Bert was a man of high integrity, principles, strong morals and extreme loyalty. He was kind, gentle, loving and courageous. He provided a safe and secure home for his family and gave his children a secure and firm foundation so that they can and will handle any obstacles life places in their path. Although this earthly relationship has ended, we rejoice that Bert has now passed from earth to heaven and from suffering to joy at meeting his Heavenly Father face to face. A Memorial Service Celebrating Bert’s Life will be held on June 26, 2010 at 1:30 p.m.at North Pointe Community Church, 14025–167 Avenue, Edmonton, AB. In lieu of flowers, Bert requested that donations be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Grey Nuns Hospital.
