Garry Howdle, President and General Manager

Garry was born in Swan River, Manitoba, the ninth of eleven children. He was raised on the family farm and he received his education in Swan River, graduating as the class valedictorian. In 1983, after one year at the University of Manitoba, Garry joined Paull Funeral Home where he apprenticed and obtained his license in 1985. In 1986, Garry moved to Carnduff, Saskatchewan with Eyers-Nestibo Funeral Home and 18 months later joined Cropo Funeral Chapel in Winnipeg until 1990. In 1990, he moved to Edmonton and worked at Howard and McBride Westlawn Funeral Home, then moving to Service Corporation International, first with Hainstock’s Funeral Home & Crematorium in December 1993 and as manager of Harmony Funeral Service in Red Deer in 1998. Garry was the first funeral director to join Serenity Funeral Service, opening the enterprise on November 25, 1999. Garry is married to Kristin and has four children: Megan, Kayla, Madison & Jacob.
